Solar Array Charge Controllers

There are literally dozens of photovoltaic charge controllers available on today's market. Some are bad, some are ok, then there are the great solar charge controllers offered by RV Solar Connection.

Probably the best all around solar charge controller on the market for recreational vehicle use is the Specialty Concepts Mark 15-12. For the price and the job that this controller does it should be a key part of your solar system installation.

The Specialty Concepts Mark 15 is an attractive flush mount unit with a digital display that toggles between system battery voltage, solar array charge current, and charge set point calibration. The Mark 15-12 solar charge controller is UL rated and approved for use in recreational vehicles.

The Mark 15-12 and Mark 15-22 has an LED bar graph on the left side of the display indicating your batteries current state of charge. At night the LED bar graph is fairly bright and doubles as a night light, or the bar graph can be switched off. There is also a yellow LED that indicates that the solar system is charging, or a green LED that illuminates when the battery bank has reached full charge.

For those who don't really need or what all the features of the Mark 15-12 or 22-12 solar controller, RV Solar Connection carries a line of charge controllers produced by MorningStar.

These small controllers can be neatly wall mounted and tucked out of sight in a cabinet, battery compartment or under the hood of your RV or truck camper. The MorningStar SunSaver is approved for hazardous locations and is UL listed.

The face of the SunSaver has two LED lights that indicate your systems statis: either Charged or Charging.
