RV Solar Connection, LLC features solar panels (photovoltaic modules) from Kyocera Solar. Kyocera modules are a reliable multi-crystal polycrystalline panel that is virtually a maintenance free power supply designed to convert sunlight into electricity. With a 16% conversion efficiency rating Kyocera solar modules are ideal for charging deep-cycle storage batteries in recreational vehicles and boats.
To protect the solar cells from the most severe environmental conditions, they are encapsulated between a tempered glass cover and an EVA pottant with a PVF back sheet. The entire laminate is installed in an anodized aluminum frame for structural strength
Kyocera is one of the few solar module manufacturers that does not exclude their modules from warranty coverage when the module is installed on recreational vehicle or in a marine application.
Basically there are three types of Solar panels for use on Recreational vehicles. Monocrystalline, Polycrystalline, and Amorphous.
Monocrystalline solar panels are made from a single large silicon crystal. Monocrystalline panels are the most efficient yielding a higher charge output, and are claimed to produce more power in lower light conditions.
Polycrystalline solar panels are cast from blocks of silicon and contain several small solar crystals. Polycrystalline panels produce about 1% less power than Moncrystalline panels. The 1% power loss is negligible and really should not be a major consideration in selecting a solar panel. Polycrystalline panels are the most common type of solar panel.
Amorphous solar panels are
known as thin film panels. Silicon is spread on a large bed to
create the panel. Amorphous solar panels are inexpensive to
manufacture and yield the lowest power output of the three types
of panels. Inexpensive Amorphous panels function just fine, but
they require 3 times the roof space of Polycrystalline or
Monocrystalline panels for the same power yield.
RV Solar Connection does not offer Amorphous
or thin film solar panels.
RV Solar Connection, llc only offers solar panels, charge controllers and
inverters that are approved for recreational vehicle use. Other sites
offering RV kits may be promoting solar panels who's warranty is void if the
panel is installed on an RV or boat. For example read exclusion B on page
two of this solar module
warranty.

Pictured
left is one of our older installs were we added a 110 Watt Mitsubishi Solar Panel to an existing smaller
"kit panel"
which gave this 5th wheel 160 watts of solar power.
Plenty of power for this owners summer time weekend needs.
Although an excellent solar panel, we no longer offer Mitsubishi Solar modules as the manufacturer has discontinued their warranty program when the module is installed on an RV.
By utilizing several RV component manufacturers enables RV Solar Connection, llc to custom build your RV Solar system designed to meet your specific needs. Weather it be an inexpensive battery maintaining system for a weekend warrior to a full blown top of the line solar charging system with sine wave inverter for the full time RVer.
We have discontinued mobile installations and now only install or at our small shop in Westminster. Since our base of operation is in unincorporated Jefferson County we are not obligated to collect any city sales taxes for installations that take place at our shop. Our total sales tax rate is only 4.6%.
The experts at RV Solar Connection, llc will sit down with you to discuss your power generating needs before designing your RV's solar charging system. We do not offer or install "canned out of the box" systems.
From a simple battery maintaining system to a roof mounted array for whole house power, we can design and install a system to meet your 12 volt DC electrical requirements.
