Installation Options for the RV Solar Panel Dual Tilt Mount

RVSC Dual Tilt Solar Mounts can be installed with all mounting hardware hidden under the solar module. We call this concealed hardware mounting.

Installing the RVSC Dual Tilt Mounts via the concealed hardware method makes for a very clean and professional looking installation. The dual tilt mount ships fully assembled in the concealed hardware configuration.

The lower rail of the dual tilt mount has two cable routing slots for quick and tidy cable routing. The cable routing slots easily accept flat 10 gauge or 8 gauge tray cable.

The picture to the left shows tray cable being passed from one module to the next in a four panel array.

Routing tray cable thru the cable slots eliminates the need to secure cabling to the RV's roof.

Be sure to allow enough cable slack under the solar module for tilting.

Exposed Hardware Mounting

The lower rail of the RVSC Dual Tilt Mount can be reversed into what we call exposed hardware mounting.

Exposed hardware mounting is the easiest way to install the RVSC Dual Tilt solar panel mounts to the roof of the RV. One person can easily install their system in exposed hardware configuration. Simply reverse the lower rail to expose the 6 roof fastening holes. The mount will now be in a "Z" shape.

Most tilt mounts are fastened to the roof with one small fastner on each corner of the module. That's not much to secure your solar panel if the wind suddenly kicks up. RVSC dual tilt mounts have 6 fastening holes per rail which securely fastens your solar module to the roof. For safety's sake no matter what type of tilt system you purchase... we recommend stowing the modules to flat position if high winds are in the forcast.

Installing the RVSC Dual Tilt Solar Mount to Solar Modules

Once the mounting configuration has been determined (concealed or exposed hardware) install the solar module to the RVSC Dual Tilt Mount with the included 1/4-20 stainless steel bolts, 1/4-20 stainless steel serrated lock nuts and 1/4 stainless steel washers.

Currently our tilt able solar panel mounts only operate on RV's with flat or nearly flat roofs. Shimming is required on curved roofs.
